Kimberley, BC is an up and coming hotbed for mountain biking in the region. We first visited this charming community in 2016 with a single stage and we’re back in 2021 with two stages!

The Stage:

For stage 4, we’ll move the start-finish up to Kimberley Alpine Resort and send you off on the “Round the Mountain” route which, as the name suggests, sends you all the way around the Kimberley Alpine Resort ski area. The first main loop climbs steadily from the start to the high point at the back of the mountain, and checkpoint 1 as you start descending. There is a lot to love on this extended downhill starting with Tora Bora Ridge, and then into the 3.2km timed descent on Upper Thunder Turkey and checkpoint two roughly half way through the stage. From here you’re facing a moderate climb to the top of the timed descent on SW passage and Skid Road. Then it’s time to log some more vertical as you climb your way through the Kimberley Nordic Centre trails to a final fun descent on Magic line to finish back at Kimberley Alpine Resort!

Distance: 42 km

Elevation Gain: 1,1200 m

Timed Descent: Thunder Turkey 2.5 km, 125m Elevation Loss

Aid/CP: 3 aid stations: 10.2km, 19.2km, 30.0km
