Stage 5: salmo
Dates: July 14, 2025
The Location:
Welcome to Salmo, BC—a hidden gem nestled in the Selkirk Mountains, where small-town charm meets big-mountain adventure. Originally a hub during the gold and silver rushes of the late 19th century, Salmo has evolved from its mining roots into a vibrant community known for its stunning natural surroundings, resilient spirit, and growing mountain biking scene.
Mountain biking in Salmo has blossomed in recent years, thanks to the dedication of local volunteers and trail builders who have carved an extensive network that caters to all levels. The trails here are known for their variety, from smooth, flowy singletrack to challenging, technical sections that test a rider’s skills and endurance. With views of pristine forests, rugged peaks, and winding rivers, riding in Salmo is as visually rewarding as it is thrilling.
This lesser-known destination captures the untamed spirit of mountain biking, offering a stage filled with character, challenge, and the beauty of the unspoiled Selkirks. For riders looking to experience something fresh and exciting, Salmo is an unforgettable addition to the Singletrack 6 journey.
** Please note that parking near the start is limited again. If you park in the village of Salmo and ride your bike to the start this will make it easier when you finish the Full Pint course. There is a road off the highway called Cemetery Road that runs parallel to highway 3 and brings you out to Erie Pit Rd where the start line will be. Riding back to your car from the Full Pint finish is a downhill to highway 3 and then a short back to the village. This is roughly a 4km spin from the village to the start area and a little shorter to get back to town from the finish.
If you are doing the Half Pint you can find parking near the start by the Centex gas station. From here the start line is right across the highway for you and you finish in this same location. Please be respectful when parking and do not block and driveways of business, there are some logging companies in the area so be mindful of them needing to turn in and out of their places of business. **
